Sydney restaurants

We are heading to Sydney tomorrow for 6 nights. 2 adults,2 teens. Looking for tasty, reasonably priced restaurants. We are staying in the Rocks area. Thanks

What do you call reasonable? Also do you have any preferences for types of food?

We enjoy fish, pizza, Italian, steak, burgers, salads. The kids are much fussier than the adults. Nothing too fancy, they would not appreciate. $25 for dinner entrees. We have been traveling around Cape trib/Port Douglas for the past 8 days but have been able to cook most of own meals. $25 may be unrealistic for Sydney for dinner.

The problem is that around the Rocks area the restaurants are likely to be pitched to the tourists which could mean higher prices. Perhaps some of the pubs down there would have pub meals at a reasonable price. Also Rossini in that strip in front of the ferry wharfs could suit your tastes. You don't mention Chinese . If that style appeals , perhaps Chinatown might be suitable.During the day you will have no trouble getting fairly cheap meals at the many food courts around town so its mainly the nights which may present a problem, as $25 is not easy in this town. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Most of the budget food in Sydney tends to be ethnic. So it's Vietnamese, Chinese, Lebanese, Thai, Malaysian and so forth. There are also cheap chains like Wagamama and Ichi-Ban Boshi.

If what you want is burgers and pizza, probably fast food places would suit you or traditional pub food. The pizza at the Pub in Cumberland St the Rocks is OK.

For steak, in the Rocks, there are places like Pony that have very good steaks but it's pricey.
