Sydney Mardi Gras Worthwhile?

I know perhaps not the best venue to ask this and yes I know many will say, “it is mostly ‘a Gay thing” but figure it cannot hurt.

have been to Sydney for the New Years Eve celebrations and enjoyed those

if I travel I would do something or things besides Sydney and right now can easily fly back and forth on miles

Any comments pos or negative will be appreciated and thanks in advance

Can't comment on the Mardi Gras (have never been in Sydney for it) but the Sydney Vivid Festival was brilliant when we saw it a few years ago.

It's a great time to be in Sydney, Dukey. The March/Parade is great fun and popular across all sectors of the community - and there is also a range of other theatre & festival events for the February- March period.

I'll find a link & post it for you later. But you could also probably just google "Sydney Mardi Gras" and "Festival of Sydney" (which runs January - part of February). By the way - much more active forum on Trip Advisor - Australia and Sydney.

If you do decide to come, book your accommodation well in advance. Lots of people come before and /or stay on afterwards, so it can be a busy time in the CBD and inner suburbs.

Here's a map of Sydney to jog your memory on areas. Sydney map:
