Sydney Mardi Gras Worthwhile?
I know perhaps not the best venue to ask this and yes I know many will say, “it is mostly ‘a Gay thing” but figure it cannot hurt.
have been to Sydney for the New Years Eve celebrations and enjoyed those if I travel I would do something or things besides Sydney and right now can easily fly back and forth on miles Any comments pos or negative will be appreciated and thanks in advance |
Can't comment on the Mardi Gras (have never been in Sydney for it) but the Sydney Vivid Festival was brilliant when we saw it a few years ago.

It's a great time to be in Sydney, Dukey. The March/Parade is great fun and popular across all sectors of the community - and there is also a range of other theatre & festival events for the February- March period.
I'll find a link & post it for you later. But you could also probably just google "Sydney Mardi Gras" and "Festival of Sydney" (which runs January - part of February). By the way - much more active forum on Trip Advisor - Australia and Sydney. If you do decide to come, book your accommodation well in advance. Lots of people come before and /or stay on afterwards, so it can be a busy time in the CBD and inner suburbs. Here's a map of Sydney to jog your memory on areas.
