Sydney hotels: Four Seasons, Shangra-La, Intercontinental

We have our choice or three packages: Four Seasons, Shangra La, and Intercontinental (the latter would be on the club level), breakfast included at all three. As a first time tourist to Sydney, which would you suggest? Pros and cons would be appreciated.

Based on the interiors I would probably say the Intercontinental, for views probably Shangra La and the location of all three are perfect for Sydney.

I personally would go with the Intercontinental. Have stayed several times and would always recommend it!

If you're coming from the USA, you'll likely land at dawn, so one thing to investigate is whether any of them will guarantee you early checkin.

I was able to checkin at the FS at about 08:30 (not prearranged) and really appreciated a couple of hours sleep before heading out to see the sights. The FS has small rooms, but is very well located, and the service is impeccable.

We loved the Shangri La - Booked the club floor on Expedia and ended up with an upgrade to a giant 2500 square foot suite with a kitchen, dining room, den, grand piano, washing machine and killer views.

We chose it originally because a friend had said the views were the best - the service was also fantastic. Only problem was that we never wanted to leave our room.

I am still waiting for a price quote from our TA for the Shangri La. Intercontental quote for Club floor is more than the regular floor at FS.
