Quay West for location and views.

Observatory for style.

I would agree with that, but google Trip Advisor Sydney Hotels for the latest candid comments.

As long as you are in the price range of the Observatory, consider staying at the Park Hyatt in an Opera King Room. We were in Sydney for 8 nights and stayed there and had the most fabulous room and bathroom. We had a beautiful view of the Opera House and a wonderful balcony where we would sit out and watch the ferrys and other boats. You cannot find a better location and the staff was terrific.

would love Park Hyatt, but it makes Observatory look cheap. I wish!
