Sydney Full SVc Apt
2 of us will be heading to Sydney in February 2004, any recommendations on full service apartments in a decent location?
We'll be staying one week in a resort to be named by my husband's company and then spend 2 weeks on our own...the "on our own" part is what we are trying to figure out. THANKS!

We recently stayed at the Mercure Grand Apartments in Darling Harbour. Although some people do not care for the area we found it to be a vibrant part of the city. It was at the doorstep of the monorail. It was walking distance to Imax, the Aquarium, the Maritime Museum, Star City Casino, Harbourside Mall (which, besides shopping had great restaurants)etc. We were also able to walk across Pyrmont Bridge to some absolutely fantastic restaurants at the wharfs. We either took a taxi from in front of the hotel to sightseeing areas or we took one of the many choices of "water rides" to get where we were going.
Hopefully this is helpful.

Forgot to include the fact that we had a Harbour View Apartment.
There is a gym area (which I didn't really go in to see) and a beautiful rooftop (enclosed) pool. Outstanding views. My son (age 25) declared the pool to be the nicest hotel pool he has seen.

The Goldsborough at Darling Harbour is great if you want 'old world' charm, we planned to stay there but actually stayed at the Meriton Tiffany Apartments as was more suited with the kids, but we went to the Goldborough to have a look, the Meriton Apartment had a view of Sydney Harbour, great place and would highly recommend.
Try this site and look under Sydney, they are Australian and have a huge number of apartments and all-suite properties in Sydney. The Meriton are just out of the center but travel is so easy, they offered us Central Business area but the Meriton suited well and will certainly stay there again when we go next year. Very good rates based on Australian $ so the prices are cheap, but you can pay in USD no problem.

They also offered us the Mercure where Rweiner stayed but it was more double the Meriton price, I think if you could afford the Mercure it's worth looking at also. You can also get those apartments from another site
