sydney connections

Can someone tell me how long it will take to get through customs (on average) for a 7:30 a.m international arrival into Sydney. I am trying to see if I can make the 9:00 a.m. QantasLink flight to Cairns-thanks. And if you have to change terminals to QuantasLink from the United Terminal.

Should be a Qantas not QantasLink flight to Cairns. UA flight will arrive T1 (intl terminal) and Qantas flight to Cairns will depart T3. Is this one or separate tickets?

separate tickets, and I will have my grandmother with me-it sounds like I better find a slightly later flight, if there is one. We would stay overnight in Sydney, but have a full later in November.

With separate tickets I'd allow more time as there would be no misconnect protection in case of delays.

Too tight, Shell Cat; you need to check in for your Cairns flight by 8:15-8:30 and you will need to take shuttle/taxi to T3.

Here's the QF timetable - next flight out is 10:35, with a number of others, depending on your arrival day. www.qantas.com.au

Bokhara2-

You are so much help to everyone here, thanks to Patty as well. We may do a few days in Brisbane as they have hourly flights and I want to visit a friend I met on the Africa chat sites who lives there. Have a super day!

Yes Shell Cat you will definitely need more time. Don't give yourself unnecessary stress. Good luck!
