Suggestion: Ask before you ....

Is it just me, or do others also wonder what to respond to posts like:

"I've booked & paid for a (non cancellable) 25 day tour with WXY company, what do you think? We're leaving tomorrow!"

I'm exaggerating a little, I know but ....

Are these folk just looking for endorsement of their decisions? Otherwise, what can we say but ... "What does it matter what we think - you're committed to it. What's the point of asking us now?"

The US board has something called, "Freaky Friday Rants & Raves".
I suppose I'm just having a "Sleety Saturday Sigh".

It's not just you, Bokhara. I can't figure it either. There's another one on the Asia forum right now. I can only assume that they've gone into the self-doubt mode that a lot of buyers experience after they've bought something, and are indeed seeking reassurance. They don't get too much here as a rule because most Fodorites are into independent travel.

Bokhara-
I hadn't noticed that's what people do, but if it is what a waste of great information.

Back in April you and others helped us narrow our plans for our 3 week trip. We look forward to a fantastic adventure the end of September. Can hardly wait.

Just wanted you to know thoses you do help really, really appreciate it!

It's like job interviews...the interviewer makes up their mind in the first 30 seconds and then spends the rest of the interview justifying their intial decision.

Interesting Bokhara, My biggest concern are those who write, 'when I was there years ago' and expect the poster to follow their advice when the info is so out of date. What use is this to anyone?
