Sorry yet another car hire question

A while ago someone posted a really useful website ref car hire in Australia. It was a comparison website and am pretty sure it was an australian web address. stupidly i forgot to write it down. It was especially handy as it searched all the big hire places but you could pay on the day and the prices were very competative. Does anyone have any recommendations. (i will be hiring out of Sydney and returning at Brisbane)

I think it was this, smeagol - www.cairnsdirect.com.au - not just Cairns, its Australia-wide.

Just have to put in a big THANK YOU to John for that www.drivenow.com.au link. It looks like it will save us over $500USD from our Avis Wizard number. And having the CWD included is a big bonus. No surprises when signing up.

Do you have to pay extra if Gollum wants to drive?

Sorry, couldn't resist...

Sally I am very happy that it has potentially saved you a lot of money . We have found Thrifty the cheapest ( used them 3 times over 2 years in Tasmania, Adelaide and Cairns )but you need to be careful or at least very aware about the level of driver liability / excess which was raised when we picked up the car in Cairns .That said we have twice been upgraded to much better cars and had no troubles with them .
