Hi, Melnq8 - I too just love the photos. I guess DH and I are going to have to bite the bullet and start organising a trip to WA. Our trip to Sweden might have to go on hold for a year! Might have to take a couple of weeks or so off school plus 2 weeks hols to do the area justice. How long do you think is necessary to do the basics? We're into Nature and History with a little eating on the side!

Hi dotty -
On our first visit to WA we did the basics in 8 days - by that I mean Perth, Freo, Margaret River (and points in between). However, the best of WA is a bit further south and for that you'd want two weeks or more (all of the above plus Pemberton, Denmark, Albany).
We did Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Denmark, Pemberton and Yallingup (MR region) in 16 days - it was a nicely paced loop, but we'd already seen quite of bit of the area...someone visiting for the first time might want even longer.
It's a BIG state.

Great photos and nifty presentation, Mel. We will be in that neck of the woods in four weeks, and you have whetted the appetite nicely.
How easy is the tripwow thing to do? I'm always reluctant to tackle something like that because of fear of failure at something which is promoted as being simple, everyone says is simple and looks simple, yet ends up being beyond me! Frustration and self-doubt then set in and ... Oh, damn! I'll have to go and have a lie-down.
Rob.

Trip Wow is dead easy, but not as quick as they'd have you believe. You can upload photos from your computer, phone or photo websites - that bit goes quickly, but the sorting and writing captions takes some time.
The biggest drawback is the limited music selection (you can upload your own, but only if not copyrighted), the inaccurate distances which you can't override, and the city finder, which seems to have a mind of it's own and doesn't recognize a lot of places.
I've made seven of them now and if I can do it, anyone can!
I'm working on a trip report too, will post under a different heading.

Thanks, Mel for the info, and Jenny too. I think this trip will have to wait another couple of years till we retire. I can't take much time off school, and it sounds as if at least a month would be better than 2 weeks. We'd spend 2 days of our fortnight just travelling there and back! Unless of course we win Lotto! Then I'll be there tomorrow.

I do agree in that 2 weeks will be very tight and you would have to forgo seeing alot of things!
