New Zealand Accomodations with Laundry Facilities in Room??
Finally just getting organized with our trip to NZ and then to OZ to visit friends.
We are a family of four with 9 and 11 year olds, and after much thought about how much to plan for this trip, we have finally decided to fly to Auckland and tour north for a week and then fly off to Queenstown. I think we will plant ourselves in Queenstown, hope for snow, and if not, take it from there! We then head to OZ and use points at Sheratons and so I am looking for accomodations in Auckland and Queenstown where we can have laundry machines right in the room, yet convenient enough to be located where we can walk closeby for food and/or COCKTAILS!!! Probably mid-priced, need a good bed!! Thanks

No doubt the Kiwi experts will chime in soon, but in the meantime, you might start with http://www.wotif.com/?country=NZ

Does it have to be in the room?
Almost every place I've ever stayed in my many trips to NZ has had some sort of laundry access - NZ hotels and motels usually have a laundry room available to guests as do cottages and self-contained accommodation.
Coin operated laundromats are also easy to find - just about every NZ town seems to have one.
Tumble dryers are more of a challenge.

Try the Quest-type serviced apartments which have in-room laundries.

We just got back from NZ, and I would recommend Earnslaw Lodge in Queenstown. The laundry is not in-room but they have two full-size washers and a full-size dryer available. We stayed in an apartment in Wellington that had a "washer and dryer" in the room, but it was a washer/dryer in the same machine and could only hold 3 KG of laundry at a time, and it took 3 hours to do 1 small load of laundry. Also, the owners of Earnslaw are so helpful and friendly. Our flight home from Queenstown got canceled due to wind and the owners were so helpful. They have 2bed/2ba rooms with great views. So keep in mind the size of the machine(s) when booking...
