Sheraton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa Aug. 2002?

Hi!

I am about to book my honeymoon to Tahiti (2 nts Beachcomber), Moorea (5 nts Sheraton Lagoon Resort, and Bora Bora (5 nts).

I am having trouble deciding on a resort in Bora Bora however, and wonder if you can help.

I like Le Meridien, but have read some great things about the Sheraton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa, which is slated to open this August.

Does anyone have any idea if the Sheraton is going to be "more luxurious" than Le Meridien?

Also, does anyone know about this new Sheraton's location? Are the views as nice as (they seem) from Le Meridien, how do the two lagoon areas compare? What we like about Le Meridien is the view, and the shallow water lagoon.

I am having a hard time finding any concrete info. about the upcoming Sheraton on Bora Bora. Not even my travel agent can give me good info. Any help is appreciated!!

Lynn

Would love to know the same - am planning my honeymoon too, and also saw some stuff about the Bora Bora Nui Resort, but can't find concrete info.

By the way, I do know that this resort will be part of the Starwood Luxury Collection.

I would assume that this is going to become the "top" place to stay on Bora Bora.

Any info. anyone has would be great.

Availability might be an issue in August Lynn. (Sheraton).
I just tried booking in mid Aug and it was sold out.
Call and ask. That might solve your problem right there (eliminating one option ).

I've looked up prices for the Sheraton Nui Resort on Bora Bora and it's VERY
expensive to stay there.I think right in line with the Hotel Bora Bora.
They were running a special on the Sheraton.com site for an Overwater Horizon and it was over $700 (usd)a night!!Whew! A little too steep for my purse.I stay at the Le Meridien Bora Bora last March and Loved it!What a Gem!

For everyone interested, I just found out that the Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa is not going to open until September, and at that, only partially!

Definitely wouldn't want to deal with that on our honeymoon! Oh well, maybe we'll go there for our 10 year anniversary.

I'm sticking with Le Meridien!
