sheepskin coat Australia or New Zealand
Am travelling to both Sydney and New Zealand in June. Would like to get my wife a sheepskin coat. Would it be better to buy in Aus. or NZ or is there no advantage to getting one there and I should just get it in the USA?
Thanks

If your wife is coming with you, I'd think it would be a great souvenir of the trip.
As it's winter, there will be a good range - probably better in NZ as it's colder there.
If your wife isn't coming, it might be tricky unless you find a style & cut she already has or knows suits her. Things like length, shoulder & lapel width can be mere millimeters off and make a garment look wrong on the wearer. Also make sure you know her measurements in metric units - sizes vary too much to assume that a US size will automatically be right.
It's a lovely gesture and I'm sure your wife will be chuffed, provided it's a great fit & style that looks fabulous on her. Max brownie points! Otherwise, you might have dropped some dollars & serious packing room on something that will either cost more $$$ to fix, or be in the next trip to your local charity shop.
Not trying to dampen your enthusiasm at all; it's just that this is one of those times when a surprise could backfire - unless you get out the tapemeasure & camera

Another alternative as a gift for your wife would be a jacket made from Possum Fur/Merino Wool and Silk. They are best purchased in New Zealand. They are really wonderful, extra comfortable, very light weight and ideal for travel.
