Reef & Rain Forest Itinerary?

Hi,

Please advise on the itinerary for a 5 day trip in the Cairns area so my sister and I can experience the Great Barrier Reef and the Rain Forest. We'd like to snorkel and do some moderate hiking. We want to experience the beauty of the place w/ some safe/moderate adventures.

And we're budget conscious!

I will NOT be driving up there, so please recommend some tour packages/companies.

Please also recommend where to stay. Some safe/clean/convenient place, not luxurious as we're trying to stay w/in budget.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Jen

Also, if you know of any package deal that includes airfare from Sydney to Cairns, please let me know.

Please recommend a travel agent who is knowledgeable about the Cairns area.

Thanks.

BTS Tours had a all day tour up to the Daintree & Cape Trib. We really enjoyed it and loved the wealth of knowledge the guide shared with us about that region of the country.

Poseidon was pretty good for the reef. I highly recommend the intro-dive if you aren't certified.

We also went with the Poseidon versus Quicksilver. Small boat, max about 20 people, a good day out on the reef and they go wherever, lots of fun.

How do you contact Poseiden to make a booking? We will be in Port Douglas in September.

I booked through their website http://www.poseidon-cruises.com.au/

On our boat, there were more then 20 people, but it was still good. The intro dives only had 4/instructor.
