Sure! I'll be going to Pt. Douglas and Melbourne, leaving this Monday. How's the weather in Pt. Douglas? Do any diving? Where'd you stay? How much did it cost to dive, if you did. What all did you do in Melbourne, and how long did you stay there? Any lodging recommendations close to Telstra stadium? Thanks for the offer to answer these questions.

I'll be in Port Douglas in September. Any recommendations for restaurants and/or tours out of Port Douglas? Thanks for your help!

I'll be in Port Douglas for five days this August. First time visit. I too would love any details on things you did, places you ate, etc. I'll be travelling with kids aged 9 to 15.

The weather in POrt Douglas is heavenly. Adn it was still pretty deserted. I went snorkling with wavelength. There are lots of good diving trips i think--quicksilver is the biggest.

I stayed at the peninsula--which was pretty expensive--you might try www.wotif to see if anyone is offering last-minute deals.

I went to the zoo, toured the great ocean rd in melbourne, adn went to see a "footy" game. RAdisson flagstaff is pretty cheap adn had great weekend rates on wotif--walking distance to stadium..

There were day tours from PD mentioned on some prior posts--don't remember the names.

IN PD, there are lots of restaurants both on the main drag (Macrossan?)and near the wharfs.

There is a great beach in PD--the 4-mile beach--that's just out of town from Macrossan that i'm sure kids woud like. also a huge pool at the sheraton.

Miranda... believe it or not, the fish and chips place on Macrossan has incredible cinnamon toast that you and the kids will love! (I still can't believe we had breakfast at a fish andchips restaurant!)Be sure to go there one morning.

Hi youngtom, thanks for your offer to answer some questions.

Port Douglas Hotels: I was thinking of Peninsula -was it worth the money? Also looking at Hibiscus Garden, PortSea and Radisson Treetop (but would rather be nearer the action of shopping and restaurants. Can you offer advice here?

Melbourne: Considering Great Ocean Road. Can you tell me in hours how long of a trip this is? We don't want to do an over-night. Did you go to Yarra Valley Wineries?
Thanks.
