Performances at Sydney Opera House

We are joining a tour to Australia and will be in Sydney on October 21 and 22, 2014. Does anyone know when the schedule will be available, as we would love to see a performance. Right now all I can find is thru June.

We will have only 1 1/2 free days in Sydney, apart from two half day guided tours. Any other evening activities that you know of in that time frame?

Way too soon to want to know. Go to the websites and sign up for emails, you will know in plenty of time.
Google Sydney Entertainment and such terms and sign up for all that might interest you - there are plenty of good theatre companies, there is chamber music, and on and on, so keep yourselves informed.

You might go for a drink at the Blu Bar in the Shangri-La Hotel, which is in The Rocks. Really amazing views for the price of a cocktail. Or go for a meal in Chinatown - you won't be disappointed. All kinds of price points, from hole-in-the-wall cheapies to quite expensive, major meals. Or if you want to stay near The Rocks' end of the city, a meal in Aria is unforgettable (views, wonderful food).

Thanks, all.

Lavandula: wow, Aria is expensive! Lovely views, but as much $$ as Le Jules Verne!

Will sign up for email updates, and Shangri-La bar is on the radar.

I've been to Aria, but not to Jules Verne, but that notwithstanding, Aria is a fabulous restaurant and worth every cent if you can afford it. October is Good Food month and from memory Aria participates. You may find a Aria offers a set price lunch (1 or 2 courses and a glass of wine) that is quite affordable. Lunch at Aria is really good and the view is spectacular in the daytime.

They are both highly respected restaurants in prime tourist / high rent areas in international capital cities.

What price were you expecting from a 2 hatred Sydney restaurant with great harbourside location, steps to the Opera House, Harbour views & award winning food, wine & service?

What Sydney restaurant of comparable quality were you comparing it with?

Bokhara2, The King and I is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!. However, Google just shows Sydney thru 10/5. Do you have any knowledge if it will still be in Sydney on 10/21-22?

And Cathies, thanks for the Good Food heads up. Lunch would be delightful.

Has anyone heard Dramatic Trumpet? Sounds interesting if King and I not available.

Posted before I did careful research. The performances after Oct 5 are just available for season ticket holders. I have signed up for additional information via Facebook, and will check back periodically. This is one of my favorite musicals, and seeing it at the Opera House will be worth the price!
