Need updated info about Sydney hotels for our Nov trip

We plan to be in Sydney from Nov 22-27. Here are the hotels we are looking at

The Altamont - we have booked a double for $144 AUD per night

Hotel 59 - tried to contact them but the won't return our emails

Ultimate Apartments Bondi - $170 AUD per night

Any comments/concerns/suggestions. We like affordable luxury, if that makes any sense.

JohnFitz! What a find! Isn't it true that out of towners always know more about accommodation options than the locals.

I LOVE Tim Storrier's work .... just look at that bushfire painting.
For once, that much overused word, "awesome" is warranted.

I'm selling up ... moving to Darlo!
Taking up permanent residence at The Storrier like that chap - was it Peter Jensen who lived at The WIndsor?

Sorry Puttaka - couldn't resist!

I have always coveted owning one of the series of those paintings . The only reason I know of it is because I subscribe to magazines that keep you up to date and / or the travel supplements of weekend papers . Ironically the mother of one of my work collegues and in turn him of course are related .Yes it was Janson who lived at The Windsor in the two towers and before that and its denolition The Federal Hotel . He still lives in the city in an old stone warehouse in Highland Lane .

Altamont is a bit tired and dingy and I was glad we only stayed there 1 night- had thought of staying there a week as reviews so good-sounds like the storrier would be a better choice
