Come on guys, I really didn't want my posting to turn into mud slinging match. When I was watching the news in NZ, and they mentioned the mass migration in 12 months, and at the same time, they expressed their concern of what effect it could have on the economy in the future, I thought it might be of interest to others on this board, who might know a bit about what is happening. Perhaps I shouldn't mentioned it all.

Where's the mudslinging, tropo? We're having a civilised discussion.

Me too. A civilised discussion, that is.

As I've said before the way NZ and Australia rub along - having joint bodies for Surgeons for instance, and some quarantine and agricultural areas too; and citizes have free movement. But still they are sovereign states and different.

Only two mature democracies could manage such a situation, and they do.

Maybe Australia being bigger and with all those natural resources feels it has to play with the big boys, whereas NZ looks at everything re foreign policy on its own merits and decides accordingly.

Sorry if I am overdoing this, and maybe it should be in the Lounge, but I find it fascintating.

Can you think of any other counties that have similar arrangements?

"I generally adhere to the no politics or religion rule"

I agree with the later but would suggest the former is still relavent in the 21st century.
