New Zealand Earthquake

Anyone here live in Queenstown or nearby that can tell me their experience with this earthquake?
DS2 lives there & is having phone problems, so I can't reach him at the moment. Though I have read the CNN report that there are no injuires ( so I'm not frantic), I still would like to know of any individual experiences with it. I hope everyone & their property is OK.

As well as being referred to as "Land of long white cloud" osb, NZ is also known as the shaky isles - they get more larger earthquakes than Australia and if there had been anything dramatic happen, there would have been a lot of news about it.

As it was, there was a Tsunami alert but nothing happened other than some Lord Howe Island holiday makers heading for higher ground and not knowing when to go back!

Our typical Aussie approach makes for that being of some humour for LHI is only as about as far north from Auckland as what Auckland itself is from the south of SI.

If you were to get a Tsunami at LHI some hours after any effect in NZ, they would know to expect something and just another sympton of our planet going a bit crazy when it comes to commonsense.

TY Bushranger, for your comments. Yes, I thought so, about the news reporting, but you know, a mother's concern.
