Been there, done that, got the t-shirt to prove it.

You are right, it was a riot.

Try the water zorb. They hire out a set of board shorts, t-shirt and towel for about $2.00, you dive into a special zorb with about 30 litres of water, they zip the zorb shut but you are not restrained, and then they push you down the hill.

I went down the zig-zag course. When I was half way down and totally out of control, I wondered 'what the hell have I done?'

Would I do it again? Hell, yeah.

Zorbing ! what can I say?

I watched a couple of zorbs come down the hill whilst trying to decide if it was for me, when 2 small girls (about 12) got out of one laughing & giggling their heads off.
So I had to go didn't I - being a big Aussie male and all.

You start by diving into a small hole in the zorb that was described to me as like diving into an elephants bum by the attendant.

They zip you in so the water doesn't slop out, so if you are the least bit claustrophobic it proberly would not be for you.

Once you start to roll, you just sort of slide inside the zorb and it's pretty cool but as the speed increases you start to tumble and totally lose control.

They tell you that if you can stay standing and run down the hill inside the zorb you will get a free ride! yeah GOOD LUCK!.

You can't get hurt you are in the worlds biggest airbag. But it's about halfway down that you start to wonder just where your brain cells were holidaying when you decided to become a Zorbanaught.

You then realise that no matter what you do you can't stop the zorb and become to enjoy it again. It's a blast, not for anyone who is not flexible or doesn't like that adrenaline rush. I think the wet zorb is the best but then I didn't try the dry one where they strap you in.

Get the package deal with the shirt, you will certainly want one after this ride.

Make sure you come back and tell us about it when you return.

There must be a different gravity field in the southern hemisphere that makes people so light headed that they will actually do this. Now that I'm moving north to Canada I'll probably become too hevy headed to attempt it

all I gotta say is:

giggle giggle giggle giggle giggle giggle giggle giggle giggle

all the way down.

definitely do the "wet" one if you go! dry wasn't nearly as fun.

I've been trying to find a place to Zorb in Queenstown, but no luck via web searches. Anyone know of a place there? I can't imagine there NOT being a place to zorb in Queenstown! I just can't find it on the net.

Thanks,
Denise

Denise, if there is a place to zorb in Queenstown, it'll be listed on the website - www.zorb.co.nz

Flygirl, are you back from your trip? I hope you're going to post a trip report!
