Ken: What can I say?! Thanks again for all the great info. I think I'll post a question for ALF about Moorea. Also, Arthur Frommer has a review of The Sofitel and does say the overwater bungalows are in need of renovation. But, I believe he said they do have some that are updated. So, I'll look into that!! Can't wait 'til August!!!

Ken: Saw your pictures of Moorea. In your opinion, did The Sofitel, Intercontinental, or Pearl Beach Resort have the best beach? I'm looking for that "walkable water" you describe. If I can't make it to Bora Bora, I'm going to try to find the closest thing to it! Thanks!!!

Moorea Pearl Beach wasn't built yet when I was there so I can't comment.
The setting for the Intercontinental was just gorgeous and the presence of the Dolphin Quest attraction was a plus. Water was rather murky there though.
Moorea Sofitel had nice, clear water suitable for wading & swimming and a nice view.
From what I've heard, the Sheraton (again, not yet built when we were there) has the best snorkeling.
