Sparkling red wine of Barossa
During our trip to Australia in August we spent a day in lovely Barossa. In St. Hallet winery we tried some sparlking red wine that was out of this world, we bought few bottles and drank everything in one month that we were there. Now all we do is talk about how wonderful the wine was. Can anyone tell me if and how I can get some in Pennsylvania.
Thank you

According to St. Hallet's website ( http://www.sthallett.com.au ), its distributor in the U.S. is

Tel: 847 604 8900

Perhaps Paterno Wines can tell you the outlets that sell St. Hallet in Pennsylvania.

And isn't sparkling Shiraz just nectar of the Gods? Also sparkling Burgandy as well and there is another one too which I am at a loss to remember. As Neil says there are many makers of them and I am yet to have one that I don't like!

I did try St. Hallet distribution in US and found out that they do not have the sprkling red here.
Does anyone know of another distributor that I can get in touch with. It doesn't need to be any specific name, as long as it is good I will be happy. Here in Pa where I live there is none.

We also fell in love with the Sparkling Reds when we were in the Barossa in September. We were warned by our guide that it would be difficult to find in the US. However, our local wine shop in suburban Detriot found and ordered a Sparkling Shiraz from Mc Laren Vale callen Vixen. We haven't tried it yet, but will this weekend. I will check the label when I get home from work later today and find out who distributes it. I'm sure it must be available in Pennsylvania as well!!

Aren't sparkling shiraz and sparkling burgundy the same thing? Australian makers had to stop using French names like "burgundy", "champagne" and the like some years ago, and as it turned out that was probably a good thing too.
