flying to raro from western canada

Anyone know who flies to rarotonga from vancouver since the closure of canada3000? Used to be able to go from vancouver via honolulu to raro. Do i have to go to LA now and connect with air new zealand? Air pacific? Thanks.

We live in Seattle, and have found that the cheapest way to get to Raro is Vancouver-LA-Raro, via Air NZ.

Aloha Airlines will be flying into the Cook Islands from Honolulu starting in December. Aloha is also flying Vancouver to Honolulu now so you could use them as an option to Air New Zealand - check out their website. We are flying to the Cooks in January with Air New Zealand and are flying Vancouver to LA to Rarotonga and return - no other choice when we booked last Spring.

Does anyone know when Aloha airlines will be posting their rates to Rarotonga? I've been checking their website for a few weeks now and there's no mention of flying there yet!

Lynda...which resort are you staying at? Canada 3000 used to offer 12 day packages, which is nice as i find a week not enough and 2 weeks a little hard on the pocketbook. What duration is your package? Thanks for the info re Aloha airlines.

Hi SS. We booked our air and accommodation separately. We are staying at the Raina Lagoon Bungalows for 3 weeks. Haven't stayed there before but they look great. Booked through Jetsave Travel in the Cooks and saved quite a bit by booking by the week. The website for Raina is www.raina.com. The other two times we went, we booked with PaceSetter Travel out of Vancouver and the package was with Air New Zealand and the Muri Beachcomber. Saw an ad in the Province the other day that quoted $1,299 CDN return to the Cook Islands with Ahola Airlines but only until December 31, 2002. We are paying $1,688 CDN return in January 2003 with Air New Zealand through Pacesetter. Hope this helps.

Lynda, We are looking at the Muri Beachcomber- how did you like it. Are you changing to another place because you were not satisfied or because you just wanted to try something else. Thanks for the information. Joanne

Joanne, we loved Muri Beachcomber. We have stayed in the ocean view duplex units as well as higher prices individual units. If we stayed there again, I would go for the ocean view units - beautiful view and the ocean breeze.
We just decided we would like a change of location so we could see the sunsets instead of the sunrises. Email me if you have any other questions.
