Carry-on weight with Air New Zealand

Anyone recently flown with Air New Zealand from Vancouver, Canada to Auckland? How strict are they with the 7kg carry-on weight?

IME flying Air NZ for many years from many places, they're very strict.

Not sure why this is on the US board -- but in any case, one should take ALL airline rules seriously. Even if some agents are lenient, at any time they can enforce the rules. If it says 7kg, stick to 7kg
