Family of 6 needs Hotel in Sydney

My family of 6 (3 adults/3 young children) will be in Sydney two nights in December. I would like to be in the City Centre or near Darling Harbour, Chinatown, etc. Where should we stay with such a large family? Every hotel I find online does not accept such a large group in one room. We only need two beds as the little children can sleep on a cot or the floor with a blanket for padding. Do hotels in Sydney just add a small additional charge for each person? Where do you recommend we stay? Thanks in advance!

My suggestion would be to take a self catering apartment. More room, kitchen and laundry facilities. Often more economical than a family room in CBD hotel.

Have a look at www.wotif.com.au

Keep in mind that it's high season here from mid December.

Another decent place i stayed recently was Rydges World Sqaure which offered joined rooms and also self contained apartments ideally located on George Street and a 5-10 minute walk to China Town also located near bus and train stations. Another great site is booking.com to find some great accommodation deals.

We stayed at the Wyndham a few years ago - great location and reasonable rates at that time
