Driving between sydney and gold coast know of a ggod place to stop for 1 night?
Hello,
I am off to Oz in Feb for three weeks and currently planning to drive from Sydney to Gold Coast. Can anybody recommend a hotel to stay for 1 night(hopefully about half half or maybe further as I know it is a long way to travel in one day.

Check this website: http://www.nnsw.worldtourism.com.au/OceanViewHotel/. It's a lovely old place!

If taking Pacific Highway, the half way point in terms of kms is around Kempsey. Most go further to Coffs Harbour, as there is a much greater variety of accommodations and things to do and see.
We always overnight at Nambucca Heads, lovely beach and riverfront but the main reason for staying is to feast on the best oysters from Nambucca River. Destiny Motor Inn has nice accommodation and its restaurant serves these divine oysters either natural or in other delicious ways. www.destinymotorinn.com.au

I would agree, Coffs Harbour or Nambucca Heads are great options.
Sorry can't remember names of places where we've stayed as we've always just found the cheapest accom available at the time and they've always been acceptable.
If you have time, also try to get a stop in at Byron Bay which is about a 2 hour drive (less even with the new road that they've put in) from the Gold Coast. It's just a really beautful spot.
Have a great trip
