Daydream Island transfer - Proserpine or Hamilton Is
Hi all,
We have a family wedding planned on Daydream Is in November and wondering if anyone has advice as to whether it's preferable to fly into Hamilton Is or Proserpine to do the transfer.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There is a fee and time spent on the ferry to Daydream from either direction. Our experience was we landed on HI and took the ferry to Airlie Beach. We were surprised that the ferry from HI to AB took 1 1/2 hours (and Daydream was the last stop before AB). Check your flight times and the ferry times (and prices) and see which ones match up the best. Nice time and place for a wedding!

Hey, Bokhara, I didn't notice that it was you posting! HI! I am assuming you are flying from Sydney? I could only get a non-stop from Sydney to HI which is why we went there. The flights to Proserpine went via Brisbane and took forever. There might be non-stops in November, though. We flew Jet Blue and man, that checkin line was long!

Thanks lanejohann & Sally,
I'd forgotten the 30 minute bus trip from Proserpine to Shute Harbour.
Should have googled first ...
" The launch transfer from Hamilton Island to Daydream Island takes 35 mins. From Proserpine, a 30 mins coach or limousine trip connects with regular Shute Harbour launch transfers to the island taking 10 mins. Scenic seaplane or heli transfers directly from the airports to the resort can also be arranged"
I'm a good sailor & would take the Hamilton option, but a couple of the guests aren't so maybe they would be better with the Proserpine/shuttle/10 minute boat trip as the Whitsunday waters can be a bit 'soupy' sometimes.
You're right Sally, the flight options to Proserpine are pretty limited. I LOATHE Jetstar, but think I will just have to "suck it up" and use them as they have daily directs in & out of Hamilton.
At this point, (memories of past experiences kicking in (LOL)) I think I'll just type up all the flight options, launch times & travel insurance link, email them to our group & let them do their own bookings.
Yes, Sally - great spot for a wedding. My nephew & his fiancee went up last month & checked it out before deciding on it (took them a fortnight... can't rush these things
Hope all's
with you & R. Pouring here this morning.
