When is the cruise? Australia is not open at present to international visitors. We don't know yet when borders will open. If you haven't already paid for the cruise, try and book something refundable.

Christchurch is on the SI of NZ, Burnie and Hobart are in Australia, so I assume you're asking about all three?
Yes, Christchurch is most definitely worth a visit, but you'll see very little of it as you'd probably only have a day for a land excursion, no?
Tasmania is a wonderful place as well, lots to see and do - worth many, many days.
If you provide a bit more information, such as time of year, ports of call, offered land excursions, you'll get more help, but as it stands, your question is too vague to offer much help.

Hello,
Christchurch is most definitely worth a visit. However, it depends how long you have onshore. If your ship comes into Akaroa and you only have the day, then explore this area. It is really beautiful and different. A French flavoured town in New Zealand! Take the boat tour to see the tiny Hector's dolphins and stroll around the little town. Christchurch is worth visiting if you have more than a day. Enjoy your cruise.

If you are talking of 2022 its highly unlikely cruises will be alowed to visit Australia .Thers no news of when we are allowed to travel other than NZ so I doubt whether the ports will be open .
