Cairns, Port Douglas - mid-October?

We were thinking of heading to the Cairns/Port Douglas/Daintree area in mid October. Will it be too hot, rainy?

We have a trip planned to Australia in the month of October and everything we have read and heard is that that is the best month for weather and sea conditions. However, they have been having weird weather for a while there, so nothing is guaranteed, but we are hoping, especially since we booked a liveaboard! Good luck.
Sally in Seattle, where it only got up to 68 degrees F today and it is supposed to be SUMMER!

Its a great time to visit, sure it gets quite hot, its queensland!

Enjoy and add Palm Cove to your list of places to go.

Good Luck

LizzyF had it right!
29.5*C max is not hot. Median rainfall for the month 28 mm. Average daily sunshine 8.9 hours. 3pm average relative humidity 57%. If you shold get a hot day head for the Tablelands where it will be cooler and less humid.

Am never sure what "too hot" means, I certainly don't find October particularly hot at all.

Its well before the wet season and associated humidity; warm enough to enjoy such tropical pursuits such as outdoor evening dining; and after the SE winds associated with winter. In short, one of best months of year in FNQ with excellent reef conditions.

Its always cooler and less humid on Tableland which should be included in any trip to FNQ, regardless of weather.
