Hi John,
I will warn the Manchester cops of you impending arrivals I'm sure they will be interested..lol

England are fully aware of the secret Aussie plot, to lull us into a false sense of security by playing crap in the 20/20. Only to 'suddenly' regain their batting ability in the 'proper' games. We know that you have batsmen that can hit the ball properly. The problem England have at the moment is which two are they.

;-)

Good question, Mucky! Wish I knew the answer!

Is it worse to be beaten by England or Bangladesh??

Answer = probably England.

John - glad you're taking your kit - you may be needed!

No sign of JJ yet, but he's not leaving till next week.
By which time the Aussies would have found their way too and started holding the bat the right way round.

I am sure your spelling was nearly right but I think you may have meant Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch.

Looks like the rain has decided this game 28/06/05, however good to see our own Simon Jones whipping Gichrist and Hayden for 33 between them !

Mucky

I returned to sydney last week..absolutely exhausted and full of flu/pneumonia.Just starting to feel human again.About half a dozen of the fellows got it in the last week of the tour.

The tour was successfull beyond my best expectations..wonderful weather..we won our share of games..hospitality fantastic..our boat race team undefeated..a wonderful cross section of english geography/cricket/people.

What about the second test..great stuff!!!

Its just a shame that the slow motion replay will show that Kasper was not out! When everything hinges on a decision should not the third umpire be brought into the action or at least a slow motion replay?

John, Glad to see you made it and had a great tour !!
2nd test fabulous, oh Liz...the slow motion shows clearly that our great Glamorgan Kaspo was out and the poor guy will live with that for ever.

3rd Test is looking good too if only the weather will behave. UK is getting a hammering today but tomorrow it will improve.
It's my birthday Sunday and the current Mrs Muck will be ensuring the supply of food drink and TLC will continue throughout Sundays play.

Dear Mr Muck
The action reply we got in Australia shows that Kasper was hit on his glove while his hand was not on the bat - the rules say that if you are hit on the glove when your hand is not on the bat you are not out - you have to have your hand on the bat for it to be out.
Be that as it may the Aussies at this point in time ( with the exception of Warne who will have to be cast in bronze) are a disjointed, sad lot and as far as I am concerned the Captaincy on Friday, or was it Thursday, left a lot to be desired by not using a third man in fielding position and we will not even talk about the choice of players now will we? I believe that McGrath was brought back in too early and was not playing at 100%, the fielders seemed to have the minds somewhere else, the Captain, as I said before, obviously wants to give England every chance to win that he can by not putting fielders in the way of the balls and he is about as out of form as you can get. Gilchrist has even given up in disgust I think and he was my hero. My husband says that my prosac is not working and that is why I don't want to watch the slaughter.
To give credit where it is due though I would have to say that England has got a better mind set, they "want" it more, are playing better, are fielding better and are the better team, its that simple. Our lot seem to think that they can sit on their laurals forever and not put in an effort. It won't work.
I tried watching Rugby Union instead but the Kiwis beat us there so today I am going down to the bowls club for lunch, that is about as much "sport" as I can take now.

but apart from that they are doing ok

lol

Liz its plain to see that the earths magnetic field has altered the image on your tv of Kaspo's hand, it is plain to see that a dangling piece of thread from the seam of his glove was touching the handle at the time of impact. Now the umpire (was it the skinny guy with the curly finger?) obviously saw it didn't he....lol

FROM MR MUCK:
it is plain to see that a dangling piece of thread from the seam of his glove was touching the handle at the time of impact. Now the umpire (was it the skinny guy with the curly finger?) obviously saw it didn't he....lol

Now listen up here Mr Muck, that dangling thread you speak about was a wiggley thing on the lens of the camera and had nothing to do at all with the glove. If you play a game on a grass field you have to expect that there will be a few wiggley things about at the time. I still say that if they had used the third umpire you would not only have been able to determine what invertebrate the wiggley thing was but that neither it nor the glove was near the bat.
Anyway it does not matter anymore as I am gathering together a geriatric female squad of 11 ladies and we are going over to the UK to show the young'ns how to play. So it will not be " Ooooooo ARRRrrrrrr Glen McGrath " but
"ooooooo arrrrrrr the ladies from afar
have come to show us just how good they are"

Thanks John, As I write I am watching Straussie patching up his baddy ear after liz the cricketer sharpened the metal bits on his helmet.
Shane warne had a pretty good innings in fairness, anyway I knew Jonesie our Welsh mate would get him eventually.

Now Liz; I reckon your idea is great you can come over here with your ladies, wop Glamorgan as they are pretty grim this year and Bring JJ over as your illustrious leader, providing of course he gets over the English dreaded summer flu. (You wouldn't have got it from Wales)

Well the game has progressed and Mrs Muck has just brought me in some tea and biscuits whilst I watch the game with my feet up.

Happy Birthday to me!

;-)

Will the "Oooh Arrrrh Elder Geriatric Ladies" Cricket team produce a partially clothed calendar the proceeds of which will finance john_j's cricket club tour of the US and Canada?

It's still the 14th in New Mexico so Happy Birthday, Mucky.
