Auckland and Queenstown accomodations

My fiance and I have are planning our honeymoon in New Zealand and Australia. We have 3 1/2 weeks and already have booked most of our hotels and tours. However, we still need to book accomodations for Queenstown on Friday, November 19 and Auckland for Saturday, November 20.

We will be in Queenstown from Friday noon until Sat evening. (We already will have spent 2 days in Queenstown earlier in the trip.) Our main desire in Queenstown is to be near restaurants and activities, but we also don't want to be too far from the airport.

In Auckland, our primary desire is to be near the airport. We will fly to Auckland on Sat Nov 20, arriving around 7pm and fly out to Australia the next morning.
We are trying to spend no more than about NZ$100 per night, although we understand we may have to spend more than that.
Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi, kcsherri,
I don't know about accommodation in Queenstown but in Auckland my husband and I stay at The Oakwood Manor Motor Inn which is 5 - 10 minutes from the airport, has a free shuttle service, a very nice little restaurant, and is around the $100. We are staying there on Friday night, and have a studio booked at a cost of $94.50.
Their website is http://www.silveroaks.co.nz and look for Oakwood Manor. Email address is [email protected] Hope this is of assistance to you.
Congratulations, and enjoy NZ.

I stayed at the Best Western at Aukland Airport for one night in May and got a room for about 100nzd. quite basic and need of a spruce up but clean and cheap.

Awful car-parking! A conference at the hotel several peoples cars in and the delegates couldn't be bothered to come out and move their cars- despite requests.

Hi Dotty and Walter,
Thank you for the information. The Oakwood sounds promising so we may try that. I appreciate the help from both of you.

Hi there,
I have stayed at The Oakwood Manor and the Best Westerns The Gateway and found The Gateway to be the better of the two.
Oakwood Manor was a bit noisy and the room we had wasn't very well soundproofed.
The Gateway was very quiet.
Both offer free 24 hour airport shuttle, both have a restaurant and both are under $100 (NZ) a night.

Check www.wotif.com, needitnow.com or ratestogo.com.
You may get a good price there.
