Atherton Tablelands Travel video

Greetings,
This video has just come to my attention and while a little on the superficial side does show off part of my special place.

Thanks for sharing that Alan. This made me very excited about our upcoming trip! What do you think of the crystal caves? I had not heard of them before. Is it a touristy museum, or are they actual caves?

Steph, it is a museum but the specimens are top notch, collected from all around the world. The 'cave' is actually the cellar and the structure of it is done with foam but it is quite well done. I must add that I've not been there in a couple of years but believe it still to be well done. I love the UV room where you can see the minerals florescence in different lights.

Thanks for this Alan. A friend of mine is planning a trip and I have suggested the Atherton Tablelands to her. More specifically, I have suggested that they engage you for a night and day I hope they do!

Are you still planning your PNG trip?

Thanks, Toucan2.

I hope it doesn't break Fodor's rules for me to let you know I've just won a Cassowary Award for Eco-tourism. These are awards made by the Wet Tropics Management Authority.

I went to PNG last year and have decided against running tours there on a regular basis, at least for the time being.

Very cool Alan! Congratulations! I think this counts as a personal note, so I don't think any rules are broken.

Unfortunately I was not there to pick it up so they have to have a special ceremony for me some time.

They said all sorts of wonderful things about me; you would think that my mother had written the script.
