Hi guys, I hope I could make May in Melb also if it goes ahead. Have read with envy about other GTG around the world!

I thought I'd posted in response to this several days ago, but must have been struck by finger problems.

Great idea, stormbird. I'd love to be there, but as I'll be undergoing a protracted medical procedure which may or may not see me up for a good time on the week in question I'm really not in a position to commit one way or the other at this stage. All I can do is see how things go and reassess the situation closer to the date.

Thanks for the update - how disappointing if you can't make it - I was so looking forward to meeting you. Well, I tell you what - I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that all will go well with your procedures and you will be able to get away for a night or two.

Pat and ivenotbeeneverywhere , that is disappointing that you will not be able to make it but what a lovely destination for your trip . I was in Istanbul last July and if you are passing through that city on the way to Bodrum am happy to offer any bits of advice I can about it in terms of a nice little hotel near the Blue Mosque and getting around the city etc .John
