Getting excited. Leaving in one month for our trip to OZ. Spending most of our time in WA with an additional 3 nts in Adelaide and 2 more on KI. I've got my Adelaide reservations at the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel (has anyone stayed here?). Reading a lot of the trip advisor reports for this area in general don't seem very promising. Can anyone recommend a very nice hotel or B&B in or around Adelaide? thanks

We stayed at the Medina Grand Treasury www.medina.com.au in November 2006. The room was huge and came complete with kitchen and laundry.We very much enjoyed our stay there.

Does the Hilton downtown still exist? We stayed there ages ago and liked it -- right around the corner from a street full of restaurants and the main farmers' market.

Thanks PJTravels and BigRuss. Hilton still exists but had some mix reviews when I read trip advisor as did the Medina Grand. Don't really know how reliable these reviews are. Everyone has different expectations as to what is good and not. Also read about the Firestation Inn which seems a little different and has a variety of accomodations to select from. Just wondering if anyone has stayed recently at one of their properties. Thanks for the help.

I would also recommend the Medina Grand Treasury. We stayed there for 2 nights on our trip in 2006 and had a wonderful stay.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of any of the properties (Buxton Manor/Bishop Gardens/Firestation Inn/etc. operated by the North Adelaide Heritage group? They're supposedly Hertiage listed properties converted to apartments of various size.
