your favorite luxury hotel in tokyo-peninsula,ritz or four seasons

i am trying to finalize hotel reservations for a special splurge trip to tokyo in april - four seasons is running a buy 2 nights get one free special promotion so i'm inclined to take that for our first 3 nights unless someone convinces me i shouldn't! and i'm trying to decide between the peninsula and the ritz carlton for our last 2 nights. they all get great reviews but i wonder if anyone who has been to more than one of these could help me decide. they all cost a lot so i want to make a good decision. thank you!

Which Peninsula are you considering in Tokyo?

I've only stayed in the Peninsula but I didn't really like it. Felt like the service was a bit cold... And even though the rooms were very nice and had good amenities, the lobby was just bizarre - hidden away in a corner so that everyone has to squeeze through to get to the elevator. Too many people in too little space when checking in.

I imagine you could get just as nice rooms for that price somewhere else in Tokyo.

We loved The Peninsula. We thought service was excellent for such a large hotel. Another hotel we like is the small luxury hotel, The Seiyo(spelling) Ginza. It is well located and the service and facilities are first rate.

Also consider the Park Hyatt (if you can get in) and the Mandarin Oriental. I've stayed three times in the one and once at the other, and staying in tower tops does add extra pleasure. I'd also second the recommendation of the Seiyo Ginza, though, for its quirky design and excellent location (I've stayed twice).
