Street food in China

HI,

On my previous trip to China I shyed away from the street food in fear of getting sick, but it smelled so darn good!

I'm traveling there again, and wonder, Is there ANY street food in China that wouldn't make a California girl sick?

Thanks again!

Almost all of it, although you might take a couple of days to settle in, first, and there is always some increased risk with street food.

The basic rule is only to buy what you have just seen be cooked freshly in front of you, and which is still piping hot.

But if your trip to China is relatively brief, and if your system is used to a highly sterile environment, you might want to avoid any risk.

It's funny, I worried about the same thing while traveling through Asia. I ended up eating a bit of street food here and there and it never bothered me. Then only time I ever got sick from food, was when I traveled on a cruise ship. Go figure! LOL

I ate the street food in China with no problems - but I was careful to only eat food that was boiling, or freshly cooked in front of me - and no ice or raw fruit & veg unless you peel it yourself. On the other hand, I avoided street food in India.
