Wolong panda volunteering

Has anyone been to the Wolong Panda Reserve in Chengdu? Is anyone familiar with the volunteer program there?

Thank you.

poshjourneys.com, wildchina.com or virtuoso.com (luxury travel agency). The Wolong Hotel is a 4 star hotel near the reserve. The Panda Inn located at the reserve is a 2 star hotel. Let me know if you go & how you trip was. I've just started researhing this tour & plan on volunteering there myself

Honeybummy,

Ever so often I check in here by typing "wolong" in the search box. This time I was surprised to find your response! Thanks for the info.

A trip is in the works with a departure of about June 24, 2006. About 4 to 6 weeks earlier would be better weather/less heat & humidity, but I can’t travel then. I hope to spend 4-5 days at the reserve doing whatever volunteer work they request. One of the days I'm there I'll leave and do a market day, rural area tour instead of the pandas. I am using Mongol Global, an agency I first used for a June 2005 trip to Mongolia and the Great Wall. Link to a report on that trip:

A physical and a doctor’s release was required for any volunteering. Feel free to email me. I’ll definitely post a report upon my return. But it might not be until Aug or Sept 2006.
