With only 5 days in Bangkok, would you do the Muang Boran tour? Even if it's free?

Thought I was done with questions but I'm not. The flight leaves tonight so hopefully someone will respond before we go. In our package, we get a free 1/2 day tour of the Ancient City (Muang Boran). From what I've read, it is an interesting site but it does suck up a lot of time from our schedule when we still have to squeeze in the "Top 10" sites, plus go on an elephant ride. Do you think I should skip it, or is it an underrated site?
Thanks all....

i would skip the elephant ride first of all...its not much fun and very uncomfortable...my understanding is that elephants are outlawed within city limits??
"too touristy"...isn't that what you have gone to bkk for?? i would make my decision based on what actual sites they intend to take you to...you can be sure that it also includes at least one "shopping stop" at a simply fabulous, i.e. ripoff, jewerly center...
have you considered having a driver like ratt to whiz you around to different bkk sites...while it may not be faster per se, it will save you lots of mistakes and generally speed things up and take you each time right to the door and provide a/c in between (this should not be underestimated, by the way)...
