I agree about driving so many hours just for a day at Chitwan. I just quickly looked at flying there from Kathmandu but couldn't figure out the flights. It looks like Royal Nepal and Everest Air fly this route according to one website but with just a quick search I wasn't able to find more info.

I may contact a local tour company to help me with the Nepal itinerary as Dogster suggested or just take care of the Nepal details myself with some additional kind and generous Fodorite's help. I do think the wildlife portion is a must on my husbands list so adding a day and flying maybe the solution. And if we are flying maybe Bardia will the better option like Kathie suggested.

I hope Phulbari is able to accomadate us. The tour operator I am working with says he emailed them and there has been no response as of yet...I will try to contact them myself later today.

So if anyone would like to suggest a interesting/varied itinerary for Nepal for 8 or 9 days max I'd love to hear ideas.
