Which hotel in Singapore?
Singapore airlines offers discounted hotel stays for those who are doing a stop-over with them. We are planning on doing so on our way to the Maldives. Which of these hotels seems like both good location and good value? We tend to be budget-moderate travelers (and need to plan on spending more in the Maldives):
Category A ($54) Allson, Copthorne Orchid, Furama, Golden Landmark, Novotel Apollo, Peninsula Excelsior, Plaza ParkRoyal
Category B ($64) Albert Court, Concorde, Copthorne King?s, Miramar, Riverview
Category C ($74) Amara, Carlton, The Elizabeth, Orchard, Grand Copthorne Waterfront, Orchard Parade, Swissôtel Merchant Court.
Category D ($94) Hilton, Inter Continental, Marina Mandarin, Meritus Mandarin, Pan Pacific, Regent Swissôtel The Stamford, The Oriental
Category E ($152)Four Seasons, Raffles The Plaza, The Ritz-Carlton Millenia, Shangri-La

Unless you areter a very class place the Allson is perfectly adequote and rooms have everything you need, you will be out and about so for a decent comfortable room the Allson is just fine. Location wise easy to get to Bugis Street, certainly way way superior to Golden Landmark. The Allson is an average 3-star which caters certainly for people wanting a decent hotel without a high price, I would go for it.

We like Albert Court, for a lower priced hotel. Little India is within walking distance for great meals.
The Carlton for close by shopping, eating and transit.
The Swissotel for the great view of the harbor and it is next door to the MRT.

Category C has several good options and since the price difference from the lowest category is only $20, I would go for that. The Orchard Hotel and the Orchard Parade are across the street from each other at the "leafier" end of Orchard Rd., walking distance to the Botanical Garden and literally hundreds of shops and restaurants. The Elizabeth is also in a good location, just a block off Orchard, at the other end.
In Category D, there is a bit of a typo. There should be a comma separating the Regent and the Swissotel. Two different hotels. Regent Hotels are operated by Four Seasons in this region and $94 is a very good deal for that kind of quality, and also a very good location, near the Botanical Garden.

Hi,
Check out www.priceline.com (and www.biddingfortravel.com as a guide to priceline)
The Marriott Singapore, which is at least a 4*, if not 5* is going for USD65 per night. It's centrally located in the prime shopping area and the MRT (subway) is located just underground the hotel.
Category A-C as mentioned are not exactly prime area hotels. You won't regret Marriott.
