My favorite at Laem Tong is the Holiday Inn. Erawan Palms is also very popular and shares the same beach. In order to maximise our time we use a speedboat transfer from Phuket to Phi Phi. Around 10,000baht for car from airport to the pier (around 45 mins) and speedboat to the beach in front of your hotel(also around 45 mins). If you use the ferry,the total transfer time is often about three to four hours.
Another option is to fly into Krabe from where the ferry to Phi Phi is under an hour.
