I wouldn't use the site you mention. The ones in rhkkmk's post are all good hotel booking sites.

For better hotels, you'll always get a better price by booking ahead. You might also try www.latestays.com as you get closer to your dates. April is certainly not high season and you should be able to get good bargains.

Depending on your budget of course, but booking online is pretty much always going to be cheaper than going to a hotel direct.

latestays.com isn't bad because its great for last minute bookings if you don't mind where you stay.

The webpage you said, I have never heard of them.

I alway find the service at deals at Sawadee to be at least the equal of any other site. I am yet to have a problem with a booking nor have I heard of anyone else who has.

I recommend that you look at staying in the Kata Beach area. Much nicer than Patong and still quite central. It offers everything apart from the Go-Go bars and in my experience it is much safer and more welcoming.

Have a look at this site for some excellent views of all the Phuket beach areas.

If you are going in low season there are plenty of bargains, and even bargains coming in now although still high season.

From after Songkran and in some cases from May 1st hotels drop their prices big-time. 3 star for about US$35 is not uncommon.
US$65 range for nice resorts.
