Dogster- I'm half drunk, drinking Jim Beam and pepsi out of a vintage 70's oversize pepsi glass. Tell us you'll be at Tawandaeng on the 23rd...over

According to Dogster's schedule he's due to be somewhere in between Alexandria and Athens at that moment in time - although, I'd put money on the assumption he'll be back in India... or somewhere else.

The poor sod can't talk to you just now. He's trapped in the men's room with an exploding bum, courtesy a dodgy mushroom and corn vol au vent, one last little gift from the Shangri La in New Delhi.

BTW: he received this curious E-mail this morning -

MY DEAR

NAMEST TO YOU AND YOUR ALL FAMILY AND YOUR FRIEND.
I AND MY ALL FAIMILY ALLWAYS PALY TO GOD SIVA GOOD GAVE YOU SOUND HEATH AND VERY GOOD SIRVICE.
ANY WAY I AM O.K HERE I HOPE YOU ALL FAMILY OK IN YEAR COUNTEY.
SIR NOW A DAYS I HAVE HO SO MUCH TUNIST IN THIS SISION THERE FONE NOT GOOD MY WORK
SO IF YOU LIKE TO HELP ME BETTER FORME.
IT YOU SEND MONEY FOR ME. THAN YOU SEND ME MONEY
BY WESTEN UNION BANK.
PLESE YOU SEND ME YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER
BELLOW MY ADDRESS

YOUR
MUNNA VARANASI

Of course there was no address.

Who is Munna? No idea.

Well the Shangri-la New Delhi's service extends well beyond one's stay in their hotel! No doubt a service Dogster could well do without. Please get him some acidophilus (or lots of yakult) to help calm that tum.

Do look after the Dog and tie him to the ships rails if he looks like getting a bit too tipsy. Don't let him answer any of those emails.

In between bouts of splat-bum the poor old fellow has managed to hurtle downstairs to Zen and Central World and buy a new wardrobe. He looks almost classy [in a dim light] which is just as well... these cruises are the kinda places where the cruise-divas look you up and down with a razor eye when you stumble down for breakfast. Every malfunction of wardrobe and grooming are noted.

Dogster has been following TxTravelPro's fashion tips. He's had a camo dinner suit whipped up, complete with capri pants and a neon green and yellow T-shirt. That should go down a storm.

Now I think the speculation can begin in earnest. How long will he last?

Only available options:
April 7 Singapore
April 8 K.L.
April 9 Penang

April 13 Cochin
April 15/16 Mumbai
April 19/20 Dubai

April 29 [gasp] Alexandria
May 1 Athens

Place your bets.

Oh come on - he at least has to make it as far as Mumbai which will get him back to India in time for another dose of the trots. Can hole up in his cabin until then and give us a few stories. Nice to think he could actually last the whole distance but doubtful I think.

Glad he's going to hold up his end for the sartorial splendor of the Aussies so hope its a desert coloured camo dinner suit.

When we last discussed this, I placed my bet for Mumbai as the port in which the dogster disembarks. I now must say that I consider Cochin to be just as likely a point of disembarkation.

Oh, and please do send photos of your new suit. I know there will be others here who will want to visit your tailor.

UNTIL he tires of prancing about in his new clothes and attending shipboard activities such as mind exercise and social fun fitness and discovers that:

"Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest are both fully wireless, including staterooms.
Internet access is available in eConnections at the following rates:

• $0.65 cents a minute with no package
• $40 for 75 minutes
• $$60 for 125 minutes
• $80 for 185 minutes
• $100 for 260 minutes

Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel instructional classes plus tips and tricks on how to surf the internet are complimentary."

Let's see how long it takes...

No muu-muus dogster?

I have confidence in you -- it's possible you'll make it to Alexandria -- and it sure sounds like it would be cool to cruise into Dubai . . .

Well, Kathie, I picked Cochin the first time round, and I suspect that will be a stretch... I think dogster and this kind of cruise are oil and water.

thursdays, after posting, it occurred to me that if this cruise in any way resembled the last one we heard about I'd recommend he get off at Penang and hole up in the E&O.

Good idea, Kathie! But I really liked Cochin, and the backwaters, so if he can last that long he could recover on one of the Kettuvallam house boats. But after the yet-to-be disclosed adventures to date, maybe he'll actually enjoy the cruise??? I would think it would at least be quite a contrast!

On April 15th in travelaw's thread he posted:
Hey trav: that laptop is working fine. It's INDIA that keeps going off line.

P.S.
Guess where I am.... heh.
Not, of course, where I should be.
Where am I going?
Dunno.

I have been away for a while and just read through Dogster's latest report. Why do I always feel like I must have eaten magic mushrooms before reading what ostensibly is written in English, and also in rather interesting prose?

Bless you Boston:
I have been away for a while too... I realise while writing this that I've been on the road now for just under three months. You feel like you must have eaten magic mushrooms just reading this... heh. Just imagine what it's like to DO it.

'ostensibly written in English...' lol lol lol. Love it. Soon I'll start on the REAL story.

If I could just get home...

BostonHarbor! I was just thinking I hadn't "seen" you for a while. Have you been traveling?

But doesn't dogster write in Australian?
