Delhi is pleasant during the day, but cold in early mornings and evenings. It gets low as 8ish Celsius (46F) and high as mid 20'sC (mid 60'sF) during the day. Nightime autorickshaw rides are extremely windy and cold so bundle up. You won't have to worry about rain.

Kathmandu even colder temps can get below freezing at nite.

Very little rain though...

Happy Journey,

I've been in Kathmandu in December. There was sometimes frost in the morning, but daytimes are pleasantly warm.

India is having a cold spell right now, don't rely on the averages.

Yup, the days in Kathmandu in Dec/Jan are usually sunny and clear - but the minute the sun goes down... brrrrrrrrrrrr. Seriously. Brrrrrr. It is not a time for a cheap hotel. Make sure you have good heating. Take a scarf, thick socks and sense of humor. Stay at the Hotel Courtyard in KTM for jolly fellow travelers in the same situation. Get used to the idea of early nights - or long drunken conversations round the fire.

Chilly cold in Delhi and Kathmandu during the month of December. Temprature dips to about 5-10 degree celsius. The nights are long and the days are usually sunny or may be foggy/cloudy sometimes.
