Vila Kipas, Bali

i feel i have to acknowledge the total integrity of neil mcdonald, the owner of vila kipas in our recent dealings with him.

a year ago when we began our bali planning (rhkmk's and gpanda's), beth found this wonderful villa for us in seminyak... its a two bedroom, two bath private villa only steps from the beach with a staff to cater to your needs. Bingo, it seemed perfect for us...

after a couple of e mails with neil in australia, we booked the place and sent our credit card deposit (1/2 the rental). we were all so excited to be staying in this villa, in this lovely town.

but then as you know andy got sick. i notified neil immediately to put him on notice. then a couple of weeks later when we knew for sure that we would be unable to go together, we cancelled. we fully expected to be penalized in some way as the cancellation was only about 60 days before our arrival, but within their grace period.

Neil very graciously refunded our full deposit and our secondary payment which i had made the week before andy got sick...

this is a true quality guy and i desire that any of you needing a villa in bali consider renting this one.... its perfect for a family and especially for two couples...

bob

HT...Neil's contact info is [email protected]. The site is villakipas.com You can google it also. Looks like a wounderful place and TA gives it excellent reviews. Really sad we are not going there, but next time. Linda deserves at least 2 weeks there.

Through Neil's kindness and Bob's hardwork, I will have the opportunity to fire up about 17 cigars.

You wonder, was Neil the owner just being kind, and going above and beyond or: he checked this board, saw who was soon about to arrive and said,"that's it, I'll pay Bob not to come and stay for the week."

It is always nice reading about good things that happen.

I'm with Tengohambre, Bob probably could have received additional funds, if he promised to never visit. How much would I pay to buy back my introduction to him? Following up on another thread, maybe we should make Needhamites get a visa to visit the United States.
