Ubud Restaurants

I will be in Ubud, Bali for 5 nights. Any restaurant recommendations?

Mozaic is good, although expensive by Bali standards. It might set you back $50 pp. Last week I had a pretty nice meal at Pundi-pundi. It's got quite a nice setting, on the edge of a rice field.

I like Mosaic too, though agree that it's pricy and, for Bali, a little on the pretentious side.

I'm very fond of the restaurant at Uma Ubud Resort, Kemiri. Also a bit on the high side, but the food and service are excellent.

Lemak is a lot of fun -- more for the decor than the food.

The restaurant at Kayumanis resort is in a spectacular setting. Wonderful for a long, late lunch.

I've always enjoyed Cafe des Artistes. Good food reasonble prices and a nice little place.

The Dirty Duck - trust me. Walk in a few hours or a day ahead of time and pick out your private bale. Great food, service, prices and atmosphere. Trust me on this one!!

I like to second Moziac for French and Dirty Duck for local! For the Dirty Duck my favourite dish is the smoke duck which you have to preorder 24 hours before.

Go for lunch at Ibu Oka, for the best roast pig in the world. We loved it, and then stopped by in the early morning to watch them cook them.

We also had good food at Naughty Nori's.

The food at Amandari was wonderful, for a splurge.
