Now I am getting really excited! Partner is fanatic Yankee fan, born and raised just outside the old stadium and could see scorecard from bedroom window. Has lots of stories about the old days. You can imagine! When I began thinking about getting tickets I really was doing it for partner, not for me, but now I think I am the one who is much more excited.

Home team the Swallows beat the BayStars 5-2. We sat in the Yakult outfield section, what an experience. Cheerleaders waving flags, fans standing when the home team is at bat, cheers for every player, dancers and fireworks. The fans ecstatic when a player gets on base and with a home run, out come the team umbrellas.
The only bad thing tonight was the weather, breezy and mid 40's which made for a chilly evening. Good thing we brought a blanket for our legs. I don't know how the young beer vendor girls did it walking around in short sleeves.

Sorry, didn't read the whole thread but always always ALWAYS the Swallows game at Meiji Jingumae over the Tokyo Dome! Dome is indoor, enclosed and the noise is deafening. True Swallows fan here and nothing to beat the open air stadium and the fans singing their hearts out and waving their umbrellas for the hapless Swallows. . Note, there's lots and lots of food (and drink) for sale but pick up something on the street on the way into the stadium - we usually do karaage and edamame and beers.

As Boveney suggested, lots of food vendors selling snacks and food items on the way to the stadium from the train station. The yakisoba and edamame looked especially good with quite a few people buying before going in. But it's nice flagging down the beer girls in the stands, so adorable.
