Tip: United is Thai Airways partner
Hello
I just wanted to share a tip to remember that if you have United frequent flyer miles they might be a great alternative to buying tickets on Thai Air. It's 20K miles to get from BKK to Denpasar. Pretty good!

After much work I have a few more tips:
-The 1st class train fare from Bangkok to Chiang Mai cost MORE than flying on Nok Air.
-Nok Air has a Plus class which allows you to have 30KG of luggage.
I booked economy to CM and Plus back to BKK, knowing I'd be shopping a lot in northern Thailand.
The full ticket came out to 3400 Bhat including all fees.
A one way train ticket would have been $68. (I know you can go overnight and save a hotel cost but that didn't work with my sched.)
In the Firefox browser, Nok Air had an error completing payment so you'd want to use IE.
That's all for now!

Train is fine if you are not in a hurry as it takes ages compared to flying. It does cost$1 more per person but to offset that you do not have the airport taxi fares. Also by taking the early evening train from it does save a hotel room. Fly one way, train the other.
