I haven't been in Bangkok, but have experienced very bad air (by U.S. standards) in Manila. I'd imagine Bangkok is about the same (based on geography and population). Not to say I don't enjoy Southeast Asia a lot its beautiful and the people are great! Just be ready for some oftentimes smelly air, and enjoy yourself.

I am visiting Bangkok currently and sitting in an internet cafe to get out of the outside smog for awhile!

I have to say that the smog in Bangkok is far worse than anything I have ever seen!

Regardless of the nice people, culture and scenery in Thailand and other smog filled countries in Asia, how could anyone enjoy a place that has air that is so totally unfit for breathing. What is more important to life than breathing?

Though of you that down play the need for safe air are displaying the same thinking that alowed the air to get as bad as it has become in Bangkok.

If you're for real give me the name and address of the Internet Cafe - even ask for the phone no. and post it here. If you are real then I'll know by simply checking your source. If you're just posting from another country then I will also know that you're a fake. Don't worry by giving the address or phone no. of the internet cafe is quite safe.

YES WE HAVE POLLUTION but no where near what you guys are trying to make people believe!

You say as you find.

Pollution is quite bad in Bangkok, stop by the river its a lot better and go in Novemeber. Travelled all over asia never had any major problems.

Spent 5 days in Las Vegas in April, came down with a chest infection. Went to the hospital and they said it was the pollution in Vegas which apparantly is some of the worst in the world. No Fumes, No Haze but still pollution
