Thai sense of humor

I just have to share this because I thought it was so cute! We have reservations at A Lot of Thai cooking school in Chiang Mai in February, and she sent out an email right after the New Year, presumably to the people who have upcoming reservations.
Here it is:

Hi Everybody
Hope you all have a GOOD YEAR (even you use Michelin tyres ).
Yui SId Kwan

Isn't that cute? Good Year - Michelin? I can't wait to meet her! And I was wondering if those of you who have traveled frequently to Thailand have observed such a playful sense of humor as something fairly common...

I also got a chuckle out of that email. Yui and Kwan are wonderful people and the classes are tops (I did it in December). Only problem is that for the rest of the trip you will be criticizing whether the restaurant used the proper amount of galanga!

Please, would you share how you arrange such a cooking class - what it involves and approximate cost. Thanks!

i am not a cook...i dont like cooking and she laughed with me as i attempted to make the dishes we chose...my partners in crime made additional dishes and everything was wonderful. we even bought a coconut wooden spoon which we are using tonite to spoon our chicken noodle soup.
